Jell-o

The New Jell-O
When was the last time you had Jell-O? Was it when you were a child? Perhaps you were placed on a restricted diet and when you got better and were moved up from liquids it was your first solid food. If you're like me, you probably forgot how great Jell-O could be. When the water to Jello-O powder ratio is just right, not too rubbery and not too runny, Jell-O can be great!
Remeber Rice Krispie squares? In a sneaky way to get adults to remember their childhood, Kellogg's is now making ready-to-buy Rice Krispie Squares. As if that wasn't bad enough, you can now buy them already made and topped with Cadbury's chocolate!
Now Jell-O has found its way back into the realm of acceptable desserts. The above layered Jell-O sample is something showing up at bridal and baby showers, pot luck dinners and family get togethers all over the suburbs. Because the making of this colourful treat takes an entire afternoon, it is somehow accepted as a wonder to behold and worthy of compliments all around. The colour combinations are endless and can be changed up for any occasion. I can't wait to try the red and white layers for Canada Day, red and green for Christmas and variations of greens for St. Patricks day!
Jell-O, its not just for kids anymore!
