I have to demote someone tomorrow. I don't know what to say or how to say it. Last week I met with the employee to tell him he wasn't cutting it. I gave him a week to improve his performance. I also gave him someone to "shadow" him for the week in hopes that additional one on one, on the job training would help. It hasn't. I'm not looking forward to it and the later it gets tonight the more I realize how little sleep I am going to get over this.
